Here is how to fill it:

  1. Open a calculator, for example the concrete calculator.
  2. Enter your measurements.
  3. Press + Add to shopping list under the result.

Add as many as you like. They all land here. Browse the calculators.

How to use the shopping list

  1. Use any BuildSums calculator and press + Add to shopping list on the result.
  2. Come back to this page. Each calculator you used shows as its own group.
  3. Change a quantity, or remove anything you do not need.
  4. Press Print or save as PDF to take it to the merchant, or Share list to send it to someone.

Why use this shopping list

A project needs more than one calculator. Concrete for the base, sand for bedding, gravel on top. This page keeps it all in one place, so you shop once.

Your list stays in your browser on this device. There is no account to make and nothing to sign up for.

Tips

  • Round up to whole bags, packs or rolls before you buy. You cannot buy 11.4 bags.
  • Check each quantity with your supplier. Pack sizes and coverage vary between brands.
  • Use Share list to send the list to your phone. Open the link there, then press Add to my list.
  • Print a copy before you set off. A paper list works with no signal in the builders' merchant.

FAQs

Where is my shopping list stored?
In your web browser, on this device only. We never see it. If you clear your browsing data, or use a private window, the list will be gone.
How do I save my list as a PDF?
Press Print or save as PDF. In the print window, choose "Save as PDF" as the printer or destination. Only the list prints, not the rest of the page.
How do I get my list onto my phone?
Press Share list and send the link to yourself. Open it on your phone and press Add to my list. The list travels inside the link, so nothing is uploaded to our servers.
Is a share link private?
Anyone who has the link can read the list inside it. It holds only the items and quantities, nothing personal. Do not post it anywhere public if you would rather keep it to yourself.
Why is my list empty?
Lists are saved per browser. If you added items in a different browser, on another device, or in a private window, they will not be here. Add them again from the calculator, or use a share link.
