How to embed a calculator
- Choose a calculator from the list.
- Set the width and height. Full width (100%) works best on phones.
- Press Copy embed code and paste it into your page, where you want the calculator to appear.
- Leave the credit link under the calculator. It is how people find the full page.
Why embed a calculator
Your visitors get a working calculator without leaving your page. It is free and there is nothing to sign up for.
It runs inside a small frame from BuildSums, so it stays up to date. We keep the figures current. You do not need to do anything.
Tips
- Tick Resize automatically if the calculator looks cut off. The frame then grows and shrinks to fit.
- Most website builders have an "HTML" or "custom code" block. Paste the code there.
- Give the calculator room. About 760 px tall suits most of them on a computer. On a phone they get taller, so automatic resizing helps.
- Please keep the credit link. It is the only thing we ask for.
FAQs
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up and no limit on pages. All we ask is that you keep the credit link under the calculator.
Can I change the colours?
Not yet. The calculator keeps its own look, so it works the same everywhere.
Does it work in WordPress, Wix or Squarespace?
Yes, in most. Paste the code into an HTML, embed or custom code block. If a builder strips the iframe, ask its support whether iframes are allowed on your plan.
Will search engines see the calculator on my page?
They see the frame and your credit link. The calculator itself lives on our site, so it does not count as your content.
Does it collect my visitors' data?
No sign-up or personal details are asked for. The numbers your visitors type stay in their browser.
